As immigration lawyers based in New York City, we have been serving the Japanese community for more than 30 years. Because immigration law is federal law, we are able to represent Japanese companies and individuals throughout the United States.
As active members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, we have access to a network of skilled immigration attorneys in every state which is helpful in those situations where a local attorney is necessary to make an appearance with our client at a USCIS office.
Our main practice areas within the immigration field are:
- Temporary (non-immigrant) visas such as E1, E2, L1 (both individual and blanket petitions), H1B, O1, J1, F1 and B1/B2
- Green cards (immigrant visas) based on company and family sponsorships
- Green cards for people exempt from the PERM labor certification including executives and managers and persons of extraordinary ability
- Naturalization
- Deportation
- Issues relating to corporate reorganizations such as acquisitions and mergers that may affect visa eligibility of staff

FY2012 H-1B Cap Reached - Wednesday, November 23, 2011As of November 22, 2011, USCIS received a sufficient number of petitions to reach the annual cap of 65,000 for FY 2012. USCIS also received more than 20,000 H-1B petitions on behalf of persons exempt from the cap under the advanced degree exemption as of October 19, 2011. As a result, USCIS will reject cap-subject petitions received after November 22, 2011 for new H-1B specialty occupation workers seeking an employment start date during FY 2012. read more ... |

| FY2012 H1B Cap Count - Cap reached for H-1B Master’s Exemption; Cap nearing for Regular Cap - Tuesday, November 22, 2011 USCIS has already received enough number of petitions allocated for individuals who have earned a Master’s degree or higher from a U.S. institution of higher education. As of November 18, 2011, USCIS has received 61,800 toward the regular 65,000 annual cap. It is likely that the cap will be reached soon in that category as well. |
